We are incredibly humbled for all the support and we will be able to help the community so much more with the donations from this incredible event.

A long post ahead for our community.
BEAUTIFUL things can happen when people work together to shine a light on the future of our society.
The founder of Fortune 88 Run Club, Cole Thompson, and I had a discussion about how his run club could give back to the community. That's when we came across Wichita Adaptive Sports, an organization that specializes in adaptive sports for adults and youth with physical disabilities. It was the perfect match for a 5K run at Scheels who was also the perfect partner on all this.
Things continued from there. I wanted to give back directly to the kids and found some friends who were willing to match my donation. Alec The Barber, Station 8 BBQ, Matt Magnuson with ICRYO Wichita, Edwyn Aguilar with Buckets Studio, and Emerson Romero all bought into an idea to fund each Wichita adaptive sports athlete with a $100 money market account.
From there, Bradley Dyer with Credit Union of America reached out. They wanted to support the athletes and matched our entire $2,000+ donation. Thanks to CUA who arrived at Scheels and helped open 20 accounts for all the athletes and waived all fees.
It didn't end there. Fortune 88 was able to raise an extra $1,000 to go towards Wichita Adaptive Sports.
And then the cherry on top. Scheels matched all donations and cut a check for $5,000. In all, over $10,000 was given to the organization and their athletes.
Did it end there? No. Scheels then gave every athlete a gift card, opened the store early, and let the kids have a mini-shopping spree.
All this and the kids knocked out 1-3 miles with the Fortune 88 Run Club.
Thanks to DJ Carbon who arrived in the morning and provided the soundtrack. And Ashli with Play & Party Co. who had a sign making station for the families. To Mayor Lily Wu for coming to support. Also to Lets.Eat.ICT for some of these awesome pictures.
My heart really needed this positivity. Thank you to everyone who showed up and made this possible for the kids in our community. ❤️
